Paris, capital of France, is one of the most sought after destinations in the world. The city receives some nicknames, such as “City of Love” and “City of Lights”. The city has a unique atmosphere, thanks to cultural factors such as music and gastronomy. No wonder the city is one of the most chosen for honeymoons, vacations or even cultural trips.

In 2020, we had the consolidation of the epidemic of the new coronavirus that devastated the world. Soon, measures such as the ‘lockdown’ came, which closed tourism in much of the world to prevent the spread of the virus.

There were long months of retraction of this important activity. Dreams of visiting Paris were postponed. But that’s just starting to become a thing of the past.

With mass vaccination and reduced mortality from infections caused by the coronavirus, tourism is gaining strength again in the French capital. But, as it could not be different, some changes have occurred as a result of the pandemic. We’ll talk about some of these changes.

A very significant change that was enhanced with the advent of the pandemic was the change in means of locomotion. Paris has always been known for its pedestrian-friendly sidewalks, so you don’t need to take cars, taxis or Uber for much of your trip.

Paris public transport has also always proved to be an excellent quality of the French capital, serving both residents and tourists. Thus, walking around Paris is one of the main programs. But in recent years a new mode of transport has been widely adopted by Parisians and tourists alike: the bicycle.

As a result of public policies that encourage more humane locomotion and without the use of fossil fuels, bicycles and cycle paths have come to occupy the city’s landscape. For those who are not used to long rides, there is the option of electric bikes.

Paris has a public bicycle rental system (Vélib’), with a daily cost of €5. There are more than 10,000 bikes available and 750 automated stations. An excellent tour tip is to ride a bike on the bike path that borders the River Seine. A magical and welcoming experience.

As in Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands, this revolutionary means of transport powered only with the strength of their own legs, the bicycle is already a symbol of the city. Getting around the City of Light in this way will give you a more personal experience of the city.

In addition to strolling along the banks of the River Seine, you can explore its waters with the boats that cross the river. They are very comfortable and offer visitors an excellent view of the city from the Seine. They are similar to ferries. The three main companies that offer the service are: Bateaux-mouches; Parisian Bateaux and Batobus.

Cafés, bistros and bars are some of the typical developments in Paris. In general, these developments are small-scale and operate on city sidewalks. In this way, there is a more human experience and closer to urban life, different from experiences made in stores located in malls, for example.

It’s common to walk around Paris and fall in love with a bistro or cafe you’ve just seen, go inside and taste some of their products. With the advent of the pandemic, in which closed places have become less recommended, Parisian cafes, bistros and bars, with their usual charm, have become even more essential.

Museums, churches and monuments

Paris is considered by many to be the cultural capital of Europe. It has in its territory several museums (Louvre, Orsay, Rodin, Center Georges Pompidou), among others. Museums house works from various artistic movements, whether classical, modern or contemporary.

Because they are closed places, some rules have changed. Mandatory use of a mask may be a reality in some of them, in addition to limiting the number of visitors to each exhibition. However, generally speaking, restrictions are minimal and you can visit the galleries without any worries.

Therefore, romantic Paris is once again one of the best cities for you to visit and discover.
