Kuala Lumpur

The Capital of Malaysia is a modern, cosmopolitan and multicultural city, where it’s easy to start exploring Southeast Asia. A city with a 1st world airport, an excellent public transport system, an excellent offer of 5-star hotels with very affordable prices, good restaurants with typical food and international cuisine and exoticism in just the right measure.

From Little India to Chinatown, from congested streets to skyscrapers, from mosques to Hindu temples, from public parks to air-conditioned mega malls, Kuala Lumpur is sure to please you, and the city has enough tourist attractions to keep you there for a while. at least 3 days.

Among the main places to visit in the capital, we highlight the regions with commercial appeal. So, be sure to visit the Colonial District, Central Market, Chinatown, Petaling Night Market and many other alternatives.

In addition, it is worth considering visiting religious temples, such as the Hindu temple Sri Mahamariamman, located in Little India, and also the mosques of the Muslim quarter. For those who want to visit churches, there are also options, such as Merdeka Square.

Penang

Penang has several attractions. Here we separate the main ones.

George Town: Recommended for those who want to save money, as it is possible to stay in hostels, cheap hotels to tidy hotels. It is also the center of the island, where everything happens. Best of all, you can do everything on foot.

Batu Ferringui: It is one of the largest beaches in Penang and where the main luxury resorts are located. If your intention is to stay well and still facing the beach, this is the recommendation. It is a little further from the center of Penang, but has a large number of restaurants and bars in the area.

Tanjung Tokong and Tanjung Bungah: The northern part of the island of Penang is where the calmer beaches are, and we prefer them. It has some resorts and inns for those who want a little more peace.

Pulau Perhentian Kecil

There are many shades of blue that make the Perhentian Islands a paradise in Malaysia. They are located on the northwest coast, about 60 km from the border with Thailand, and are one of the favorite destinations for those who enjoy snorkeling, diving or simply enjoying beaches that look like they came out of a magazine cover.

Perhentian means “stopping point”, this is because the islands served, for a long time, as a stopping point for traders traveling between Malaysia and Bangkok. The two main Perhentian islands are Pulau Perhentian Besar (“Big Perhentian Island”) – where I stayed – and Pulau Perhentian Kecil (“Little Perhentian Island”).

This second one has cheaper accommodation, more parties at night, more backpackers and cheaper accommodation… while the other one is a little more expensive, calmer and attracts more families, for example.

Pulau Langkawi

This place is recommended for those who want to take a little “vacation from Asia”, even if they are on the mainland. This is because, unlike other regions, there are few people in this region, as well as greater contact with nature.

Therefore, Malaysia is an excellent destination for you to consider on your trip to Asia!
